WebJul 10, 2010 · February 8, 2015. I have a salt free water conditioner and everytime I boil water in a stainless still pan the pan gets covered with a white residue. I use a brillo pad to remove but it never comes all off. My concern is the water is leeching into the pan or vice versa. Advertisement. WebJan 5, 2024 · 1. When I boil vegetables including broccoli the pot gets a water repellent-like residue at the water line that is very hard to remove. There is also residue similar to when cooking beans on the sides of the pots. This is in decent, newer stainless pots including the instant pot. My mother's older stainless pots don't seem to have this problem.
