Cytidine 5'-diphosphocholine cdp-choline
WebCytidine 5′-diphosphocholine, CDP choline, or citicoline (also known as difosfocin) is an intermediate metabolite in the phospholipid biosynthesis [62 ]. Widely available as a nutritional supplement, citicoline appears to display neuroprotective effects and also could improve learning and memory performance in the aged brain [ 63 ]. WebCytidine 5′-diphosphocholine (CDP-choline) plays an important role in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine. It is also involved in the biosynthesis of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter. CDP-choline has therapeutic effects against hypoxia, cerebral ischemia and traumatic brain injury.
